it’s always like this

this question is for all smokers, and i’m looking for an honest answers…

why are you willing to put the contents of a cigarette far into the depths of your lungs but you refuse to put cigarettes out in your car ashtray?

i mean does anyone use car ashtrays anymore?  all i ever see is lit butts flying out car windows… what’s that about?  it’s flippin’ annoying for us non-smokers.  don’t you even stop to think that your embers have the chance of burning something?  last year i had to use up my entire bottle of water (and it was freakin hot out!) to put out the mulch fire that started from a cigarette being tossed in by some jerk.  i mean isn’t this littering anyway??  the same people who flick cigarette butts to the side when they’re walking down the street would drop their jaw if someone in front of them flicked their soda can onto the street or out their car window.  but to me it’s the same thing.

so, why?  why is it okay and totally common place for people to just toss the remnants of their cigarettes wherever they happen to finish them??

  1. A-freaking-men! I have the same question. The butts hit my car, or worse, come in the window or sunroof. SUPER GROSS. I wonder how they would feel if I threw something really nasty that hit their car, like a rotten egg or the smelliest wet cat food ever. JUST PUT IT OUT IN YOUR OWN CAR! Granted cars don’t really have ashtrays any longer, so just use a soda can or something. I could rant for so much longer, but I’ll leave it for now!

  2. I had a friend who was smoking in his truck with his windows fully down and when he flicked his cigarette out the window it came back in the other side and got caught between his overalls and his bare chest. Served him right!

  4. Before I quit, I had a cup with water in it to dump the butts in. They don’t have ashtrays in cars any longer, so if you don’t have something in your own car or are riding in someone else’s car, you are kind of screwed (not that that makes it okay).
