it’s always like this

— i take back everything i’ve ever said.  i don’t “love winter”.  i love snow!  i love cold brisk wonderfully sunny days!  winter blows.  i learned this by moving to a place that has ZERO chance of snow and those crisp & sunny days are replaced with chilly rainy weeks.  bleh.  winter is just a lost season without snow, it’s so pointless.

— the last week of mid 50-60°+ weather has made me realize that the past month i’ve spent in thermals was not really that fun.  don’t get me wrong, i enjoy waking up and spending the entire day in the same outfit i’m going to bed in but it’s much more fun to put on a cute t-shirt, a cardi, and jeans.

— this winter made me wonder – do they make maternity size thermals?  just curious, if i happen to be pregnant during the colder months these will be necessary so i kinda need to know.

— the other day i found the HTML code for the degrees symbol (°) so i went back through my posts and replaced the word with the symbol wherever applicable.  i’m well aware of what a dork i am.

— am i the only one who kinda wants the Hungry knocking on my door?  i mean he apparently always shows up places with great snacks, donuts, chocolates, french fries, etc.  where can i enroll for that?

— i’m not bragging but it makes me giddy: i get compliments on my ring alot, as i assume most people do.  but the other day was a total first.  i was checking out at Pier1 when the lady behind the counter said “i don’t mean to be rude but is that thing REAL?!”  i smiled and said yes.  “wow, i just looks so HUGE!”   i turned my hand to look at it myself and responded with a “shh, surrounding it with sparkly stones makes it look even bigger.  a little secret.”  and i left the store.  now I  know it’s not “huge” but it still makes me grin!  maybe it’s that my fingers are tiny, maybe she doesn’t see many stones, or a slew of other reasons she felt the way she did about my ring.  no matter what it made me happy!  as superficial as it is, compliments on my outfits, hair, whatever always make my day.

— i’m sure i could google this but does sound travel farther when it’s cold out?  because i swear i can hear the jets running all day long on cold days and then other days i only hear a couple helicopters that fly directly overhead.

— Oprah depressed me the other day, i had to turn it off and play Super Mario instead.  i mean it’s just sad that we’ve become so concerned with people not texting while driving.  did we just totally skip over the talking on the phone while driving issue?  because last i knew that was still a HUGE problem, as evidence by the morons on the road beside me swerving and cutting people off and driving 15mph below the speed limit in the far left lane – ALL while on their cell phones!  and no, hands-free is not the solution.  that only keeps your face from breaking out.  your focus is still on the call, not on the road.  i think we need to back up a few steps before we try to meet the latest stupidity craze.

  1. I cannot stand people who talk on the phone while driving. I’m pretty old school and still pull over if I need to make a call. Otherwise, it can totally wait.

  2. 1. I hate winter too. The only time I want it to be ridiculously cold is if it is going to snow. Also, I don’t want it to be 70 for three days and then go down to 35 the next. Not. Cool.

    2. I love the Hungry. and I think he is cute :)

    3. It is always fabulous when someone compliments you about something. Especially something that you love so much and is so special to you.

    4. Oh my God. yes people, stop texting and driving. But i am so with you on the phone talking. I just couldn’t understand the whole hands free thing when CT first went to that a few years ago. I kept saying, it’s not my lack of one hand that is distracting, it’s the being absorbed into the conversation. it drives me crazy that there isn’t more emphasis put onthis.

  4. Um, please teach me the degree symbol! Also, I would totally love it if Hungry would show up at my door. But do you think instead of cupcakes and donuts he could bring like, nachos and cheese fries? I’m all for a good jelly donut every now and then but generally speaking, I’m a salty snacker haha!
