dress twins

it’s very well documented (through this here lil’blog) that i have a slight shopping problem.   more specifically i have a problem/obsession with purchasing Maggy London dresses.  seriously, it’s reached new heights.

a few weeks ago i was in my local Macy*s and saw a few Maggy dresses i loved, of course i didn’t need MORE summer dresses so i passed them by.  then i happened to be in there a few days later and saw that the previous rack of “40% off” was now adorned with a glorious sign that read “$19.99”   SOLD!

i’m happy to say i only bought 2.  but that’s not the issue.  getting awesome dresses, heck getting ANY dresses for under 20 bucks is something to be proud of, right?

well, i’m really proud of one of these dresses.  the other one?  not so much.  and as much as i hate to admit my shame, i still haven’t shown the other one to M.  not because i’m hiding financial things from him, more so because i know what he’ll say when he sees it.

“don’t you already have that one?”

i know he’ll say this because the answer is “yes”.  and he really likes this dress on me.  and i LOVE the dress on me.  and when i bought it it was one of only the 2 Maggy dresses i EVER paid full price for… almost $100!  it was unheard of for me but i couldn’t pass the dress up.  but i’m in between sizes right now, and i fluctuate between these 2 sizes quite often these days.  and the dress i first bought, it’s a little too snug in the hip region when i’m in my bigger size… so when i saw it for $19.99 in my bigger size?!  there was NO WAY i could pass it up!

it makes sense, right?  i mean, it’s a great deal!  and now i can enjoy wearing the dress no matter my size : )

as my husband often tells me… the difference between animals and humans is the ability ot rationalize.  and i can rationalize the heck outta’ this.  i’m thrilled to get to wear this dress whenever i want! (when it’s warmer out of course)

  1. I can justify any shopping purchase I make! Cute dress and makes total sense to get it in the different size. Plus. It was only $20! I agree that there is absolutely no way you could pass that up :)
