today

Filed under: absolutely fabulous, our house, perfect strangers, wonder years — notsojenny @ 8:56 am

today i celebrate my annual 26th birthday

today we move into OUR first house

today i get to eat out with JUST my hubby

today i get to field calls from people i don’t get to see often enough who want to bring me happy birthday wishes (i assume anyway)

today i go to target and stock up on the breakfast triumvirate… frankenberry, booberry, and count chocula

today i get to pick out paint colors and start making the house our home

today i get to eat Qdoba for lunch

today marks the first day of our newlywed life.  some might disagree here but our life has been on hold for almost 2 months now, nothing has been normal, it’s been very stressful and so now we can go back to being the happoy couple who curl up on the couch to watch the season finale of True Blood (can’t wait!!)

today i work in silence.  no cable yet.  no mother-in-law harassing me.  just quiet.

today will be a good day.

and tonight?  tonight i get to sleep in my own bed with my husband and no one else in the house.  tonight will be a great night.

~ today i learned… (there are a few theories but this is the one that i stick with) the origin of birthday candles goes back to the Germans who use to put a big candle in the center to represent the ‘light of life’ ~

  4. Nothing like Qdoba for a birthday lunch … happy 26th, lady! : ) I really love that annual tradition. Congratulations, too, on finally getting that settled feeling. I bet that’s the best present of all.
