shower invite

i/we had the BEST time this past weekend!  i was invited to my lovely bridal shower in MD and i had no idea what to expect.  i was nervous about being the center of attention and not really sure how i was going to react to that (don’t even get me started on my anxiety about this for wedding day)… i’m never good with all eyes on me.

anyway my sister had been making such a big deal out of where it was being held being a secret.  i assumed it was at one of two restaurants in town but she and S definitely pulled off a surprise holding at at the most gorgeous country club ever!  the weather was beautiful and everything was just perfect.  absolutely perfect.  there was an incident where i may or may not have scarred my niece to look like Harry Potter with my corsage, we late-night partied in the hotel hallway since kids need sleep, we spent a beautiful day at Ocean City and had the french fries i dream of and my favorite caramle corn.

and holy crap did we come away with a haul!  i honestly had no clue what to expect as far as gifts but people definitely went above and beyond and i think we need to revisit our registry now and make sure there are still things on it for the wedding… i’ll let the picture explain

Shower Haul

~ today i learned… the very first CD pressed in the US was Bruce Springsteen’s “Born in the USA” ~

  1. I’m so glad that you had a good time! And you got some really great loot! :) I must say, that I love that you say the kitchenaid mixer was “THE shower gift.” I have wanted one of those since middle school and I’ve already told L that it will be the FIRST thing on our registry. The very first thing we scan. haha.

  4. Yes, but did you get a waffle-maker? I had a debate with some people this weekend about registry essentials and how pissed I was to not receive a waffle-maker but 2 food processors instead!

In my mind, when buying from a registry you should always go waffle-maker first, spice rack second :)
