not again

Filed under: just shoot me, maybe it's me, perfect strangers — notsojenny @ 10:05 am

have you ever just had one of those days?  the kind of day where you have loads upon loads of things to get done.  work that is piling up as each minute passes and you know it will start rolling along if you could just get it started?  but yet, for whatever reason, you can’t do anything.  you keep reloading google reader to see if there’s anything to read.  you check all of your different email addresses even looking through your spam, and actually opening the Linens and Things email offers.  you check out the sale departments in your favorite stores.  you even start adding new applications to your facebook page even though you know you don’t want them and you’ll delete them later.  only to do all of this then go back to google reader and start all over?

is it just me?  because i’m definitely having one of those days.  the work that needs to be done isn’t rocket science and it’s starting to really pile up.  it just takes a little bit of concentration but that’s what i appear to be lacking.  i can not focus to save my life right now.  and it’s not because of any single thing.  i get it when i’m harping on something and can’t change gears.  but for some reason today i just want to stare at things and snack.  i keep rereading work emails and then saving them as unread because i can’t respond.  not right now.  it’s not even 10am and i already wish the day were over.  right now i want to do absolutely anything but work.  i guess i’m kind of achieving that by posting, but what will i do after i spell check, read, edit, reread, edit and hit publish?

it’s not like i really want this work to pile up either.  i’m working from out of state all next week and it’s so much harder to get certain things done when i’m not sitting here in the office.  but for whatever reason i can’t get my shit together.  focus notsojenny.  focus.

anyone care to keep me entertained while i slack?

~ today i learned… it was discovered on a space mission that a frog can throw up. the frog throws up it’s stomach first, so the stomach is dangling out of it’s mouth. then the frog uses it’s forearms to dig out all of the stomach’s contents and then swallows the stomach back down again. ( i think this is my new favorite fact! ) ~

**update: thanks to the lovely littlespoon we now have video!  this may inspire laughter AND gag reflexes**

  7. For me, it’s been one of those WEEKS. I got up this morning and all I could think about was how pissed I was that it’s STILL not Friday yet. I have no motivation for anything, seems like. I’m just sitting here, staring at my wall, looking at my calendar, thinking about anything but being here. It’s not even noon yet. Two thumbs down.

  8. almost all my days are like that. but thats because my job is boring and there isn’t really enough to do to keep me busy all day or any day for that matter.

  9. Here’s something to entertain you:

If you had one TV show that you could watch for the rest of your life and never see anything else again – what would it be?
